Hands Up

"Hands Up" is a song by American R&B/Hip-Hop girl group TLC that was

released as the second single from their fourth studio album 3D. It was released on November 15, 2002 as the follow-up to "Girl Talk" and became TLC's first single to not enter the Billboard Hot 100 or the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Singles & Tracks chart. It did, however, manage to chart within the top 30 on the Billboard Hot Single Sales chart.

Despite its minor commercial success, it did garner TLC a nomination at the 2004 Grammy Awards for Best R&B Performance by a Duo or Group with Vocal.

Background and composition

"Hands Up" is a sensual, mid-tempo R&B song that was written and produced by both Babyface and Daryl Simmons. A remix featuring Jermaine Dupri and The Kid Slim was also recorded and contained interpolations from The Notorious B.I.G. song "Nasty Boy".

The video does not appear on Now and Forever: The Video Hits, but did appear on a DVD single along with the music video for "Girl Talk".
